And Now Here is the Arkham Knight Trailer: “Gotham is Mine”

Following up on yesterday’s coverage of Batman’s PS4 debut, we now have a look at the Arkham Knight trailer, “Gotham is Mine.” In light of the recent news that Arkham Knight will be rated “M” for Murder, this trailer looks extra grim. With the Scarecrow as the lead villain and Gotham in even more turmoil than usual, I expect we’ll see all manner of graphic violence, horrific imagery, and graphorriphic vimagolence; all displayed in splendid detail on the PS4 if the footage we’ve seen thus far is to be believed.

Truly these are worst of times for the good people of the ever-sunless Gotham City. And yet, contrary to Scarecrow’s boast, it seems that Batman is the one who has “already won.” Largely because we’ve seen this scenario played out a few times already. Based on this trailer, Scarecrow’s master plan appears to be “throw a bunch of villains at Batman to wear him down and eventually kill him.” Which, you know, has ultimately never worked. This time all of the bad guys are supposed to be organized and cooperating in their effort to take out the one hero who has always defeated them in the past, as opposed to warring with each other while warring with Batman at the same time. But we all know Ivy’s going to lose it the second Two-Face accidentally steps on a flower, the Riddler’s ego will make him want to take over the whole operation, Harley’s constant whining over “Mister J” will make everyone else turn on her, and the dominoes will fall from there. Also, Batman probably has a specific Anti-Villainous-Teamwork Batarang laying around for just such an occasion.

I mean come on. At the end of the day, he’s Batman. And I’m controlling him. On the easiest difficulty level, while surfing the web on my phone for every walkthrough, cheat and shortcut available. I’m pretty sure Batman’s got this.
