LSTN Ebony Troubadour Headphones

Having a day job that has kept me in and out of airports for the past few years has given me an appreciation for how vital quality headphones have become to so many of us. You see all types passing through LAX, DFW, O’hare and Hartsfield with every brand and design of noise-cancelling cans–or at least buds–covering their ears. Ten years ago, a guy who dropped a bill or more on headphones was an automatic audiophile. Now, hundred-dollar headphones are common: on the 14-year-old still finding himself through his favorite bands; the rising twenty-something professional using music to hone their focus before a long day; or the working mom who can escape into a tunnel of sound for a while before it’s back to reality.

All that to say you don’t need me to tell you about the latest greatest from Beats or Bose–although I can’t promise I won’t do so in the future. Here today, in the now that is the new soon, we’re going to take a look at the sleek, cool, ebony wood Troubadour Headphones by LSTN.

LSTN has Troubadours in different colors, and they have the ebony wood in other styles, but these specifically are the ones I’m a sucker for. Admittedly, black is one of the colors I tend to fall back on, the lustrous dark tone here adds a touch of sophistication to an item that, in additional to being functional, has become something of an accessory.

From a more practical standpoint, the tech specs on the website indicate these headphones have a solid sound quality. They also come with an in-line microphone. The LSTN website also states that the Troubadours work with spaceships, as well as Apple devices, Android devices, and anything else with an audio jack. Given the context of that statement, we feel pretty safe that when they say “works with spaceships” they mean “functions properly as advertised with,” as opposed to “collaborates, cooperates and subjugates with.” That said, the BNC is not responsible for any UFO-related misadventures the LSTN Troubadours might lure you into.

Lastly, LSTN is doing their part to give cool unto the world: they’re devoted to helping the hearing impaired have their hearing restored. There’s nothing cooler than helping people, so on top of the stylish design and potential for interstellar abductions, you can also feel comfortable that if you purchase these headphones, your money is going to decent people with big hearts. Nothing gets cooler than that.
