Debuting today at the Tribeca Film Festival, KICKS is an R-rated urban adventure movie about 15-year-old Brandon, whose dream pair of Air Jordans are stolen soon after he finally acquires them, prompting him to go on a quest through dangerous parts of Oakland to rescue his sneakers.
For anyone curious about the tone of the movie based on the description above, I think this poster sets the mood perfectly. A little bit quirky, a little dark, a little gritty (check out the scuffing on the title text) but still adventurous and spacey. As much as a I love a poster with more graphic artistic flourish, sometimes all you need is an outside-the-box idea manifested as a high-concept image. Simple, really.
