2015 proved to be a very notable year for Drake despite not having an actual album release to go along with it. In February, fans were rewarded with a surprise release of If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, but according to the self proclaimed 6-God, that was only a mixtape. Well that little mixtape debuted at number 1 and broke a Spotify streaming record that was previously held by the Canadian rapper for his album, Nothing Was the Same.
Months went by before he took over the summer, took over radio, and took over old people dancing viral videos with Hotling Bling. But, 2015 will mostly be associated with Drake for how he effortlessly handed Meek Mill multiple L’s with diss tracks Charged Up and Back to Back. And to think it all started over a woman. Guess it could have ended much worse and much more hilarious.
On April 29th, we’ll finally get his next full length album, Views From the 6. He’s been teasing it for about a year, and over the weekend he confirmed the release date by releasing a short video following the ups and downs he’s faced since hitting the music scene in 2009. The album will be an exclusive Apple Music release, but most likely a world wide Pirate Bay release. In the meantime, you can get a sample of Views with two new singles released last week. One Dance feat Wizkid and Kyla and Pop Style featuring Kanye and, literally, one bar from Hov, which is twice as many bars as he gave all the other dudes that threw shots at him.
