Samuel Jackson Cast in Spike Lee’s Remake of Oldboy

Very little progress has been made on the production of the Oldboy remake. It has been talked about for quite some time and for a while even had, Will Smith attached as the lead. But, he has since left the project and Spike Lee has been given director’s duties with Josh Brolin in the lead. And now, Samuel Jackson has been cast in a small, but critical role in the film.

I was never convinced that Hollywood should attempt to remake Oldboy, but it would’ve happened regardless. I’m not convinced that it’s a job for Spike Lee to handle either, but I’m not sure there’s anything we can do about that either. Maybe if we were somehow able to sneak into his production studio and steal his dolly wheel track camera system. Not sure he knows how to make movies without that “floating character” shot.
